Ideally suited to existing practitioners supporting children and young adults aged 0-25 with special educational needs or disabilities, we will help you build an in-depth understanding of theories, factors and contexts for Special Educational Needs, Disability and Inclusion (SENDI). and prepare you for roles that can make a genuine difference.
You’ll study key themes in working with children including safeguarding vulnerable children, working in a multiagency context, global perspectives and theories of development and learning, along with exploring the challenges of supporting and working with families of children with SENDI.
Everything you learn on a degree will be underpinned by outstanding professional practice to help you develop knowledge and how this can be applied in real world scenarios.

I teach on a range of undergraduate programmes focusing on supporting vulnerable children and young people. I am also a Forest School Trainer and qualified practitioner. I obtained a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies from the University of Hull, followed by an MA in Early Childhood Studies.

I am a Programme Leader for the Foundation Degree in Special Educational Needs, Disabilities and Inclusion (SENDI) and lead on several modules in other programmes in early years and education from levels 4 to 6.

I am a Programme Leader for the Top Up and MA SENDI programmes and a module lead on a range of programmes from level 4-7, covering subjects such as SENDI, Early Childhood Studies, and Education Studies.

I have been working within the SEND sector for the past decade in various roles. I began as a teaching assistant at a local special education school, whilst also working as a short breaks worker – providing activities for children with SEND after school and during the school holidays.
