The programme centres on the practical application of management theory and principles in the context of the developing middle manager, thus providing a foundation for continuing professional and personal development in management.
This qualification is intended for middle managers that are able to demonstrate competence at the appropriate level in key areas that include managing activities, resources, people and information. This qualification is relevant to people who are responsible for:

Teaching and Assessment Methods
The primary way of delivering this course is on campus, although this is assessed on an individual basis.
On campus teaching includes a combination of lectures, small group seminars, workshops, guest lectures and one to one discussions with your tutor.
Assessment is via a combination of assignments, case study, Continuing Professional Development Evidence; Presentation; Role Play; Simulations and Work-based Evidence. This ensures that you develop a range of key management skills and that you undertake work study, which is relevant to your own workplace context, whether this be in the Private, Public or Third Sectors.
There are no exams within this programme.
Acceptance onto the CMI Diploma in Leadership and Management is via interview by the CMI Programme Leader. It is expected that you will already hold a Level 3 or equivalent management qualification to commence on this programme or have work experience in a management role.
