Emerging talent shines in Fine Art & Craft exhibition

Posted: 4 March 2025

This February, the ArtBomb hub hosted a remarkable exhibition curated by second-year BA (Hons) Fine Art & Craft students from University Campus Doncaster (UCDon), showcasing an impressive array of creativity across multiple mediums. From painting and sculpture to textiles and digital art, the exhibition celebrated the diverse and innovative talents of these emerging artists.

Set in ArtBomb’s inspiring space, visitors engaged with thought-provoking pieces, all while supporting young artists on their journeys, the event presented a unique opportunity to discover the exceptional work of local creatives, offering fresh perspectives and bold artistic expressions.

“It’s been great having the excellent artwork on display and the presence of students and staff,” shared a spokesperson from ArtBomb. “The audience response has been really positive, and no one believes this is ‘student’ work.”

This exhibition stands as a powerful testament to the limitless potential of young artists and the crucial role UCDon and artistic spaces like ArtBomb plays in nurturing and celebrating emerging talent. Known for its experimental approach, ArtBomb operates as a pop-up art space in partnership with the Unitarian Church, fostering dialogue on contemporary issues such as environmental concerns, mental health, and ecological awareness. By amplifying new voices like those of the UCDon students, ArtBomb continues to be a beacon in Doncaster’s artistic landscape.

Andrea Sutton, Programme Leader for BA (Hons) Fine Art & Craft, emphasised the exhibition’s significance: “Our second-year students’ collaborative exhibition was an invaluable opportunity for them to gain professional curatorial experience, showcase their artwork to new audiences, and build meaningful connections within the local arts community. This experience not only demonstrated their creativity and dedication but also propelled them toward their future careers.”
